In 1990, the Oklahoma Grocers Association established the Oklahoma Grocers Education Foundation (OGEF) to provide scholarships and promote education throughout the food industry in Oklahoma. OGEF is a non-profit, tax-deductible, IRS section 501 (c)(3).
Our scholarship program runs from December 1 through February 28, the scholarship application is available for download. An impartial Selection Committee, made up of educators, selects the winners who are then notified by April 15th. Scholarships are for one year; however, winners may reapply in subsequent years as long as they continue to meet eligibility requirements.
Companies can provide an endowed scholarship, through the OGEF program, by making a donation of $10,000 for a $500 annual scholarship, or $15,000 for a $750 annual scholarship.
As of 2024, OGEF has presented a total of 2,209 scholarships totaling $1,527,250.
